Jannie is a genius when it comes to both injury rehabilitation and strength programming. I’m a competitive triathlete in my 60’s. Initially, I started seeing Jannie to treat my plantar fasciitis. I have always been a very active person. I run, bike, swim and lift weights. My job in the fire service means that I always need a decent level of fitness to perform at the highest level possible.

I was recommended to Jannie after suffering a slipped disc in my lower back. I had been suffering for over 6 months. I gave my MRI results to Jannie. Up to this point I had injections and physio visits, but nothing worked. All the other therapists pointed me towards surgery as my last chance to get pain free!!
I booked 10 sessions with Jannie and instantly knew this guy was different. We had a consultation and a physical assessment to start planning. I was sent all my exercises through WhatsApp with himself showing me exactly how to do them. He also asked me to send video of myself doing them, to make sure I was doing them correctly.

Jannie also gave me a list of supplements and a strict water intake protocol to help with my recovery. Within 5 of my sessions, I felt a difference and was completely mobile and relatively pain free. After my first 10 session I was so happy with progress, that I booked some more sessions to carry on and to start working on a shoulder issue I’ve had for years.

I booked a session with Jannie in February 2022. Unsure of how personal training actually worked, it was a big thing for as in 2014 I was in an accident whilst on my bike. I suffered 12 spinal fractures a fractured pelvis as well as fractures to all of my ribs.
This accident not only affected me physically but also caused a lot of anxiety especially when it came to getting into the gym again.
From the very first session Jannie made it interesting and incorporated exercises that would help strengthen my back. He explained both, what we were doing and how it would help me. Every session is tailored to my needs and is set out in a way that is both challenging but also achievable.
He encourages me to set goals and assessed my fitness from the very start. This was extremely motivating and has helped keep my training on track. We perform retests on a regular basis.
I find that Jannie creates such a positive atmosphere with everyone, not just his clients. He makes it so people want to be there. His knowledge of anatomy, injury rehabilitation and fitness training is excellent. I have strengthened my back, lost over a stone and have even recently started completing tough challenges like the 3 Peaks since I began training with him!!!

10 years ago I had the first of two hip replacements at age 46. These were successful operations and I did the rehab and kept doing the activities I enjoy (skiing, off-road biking, sailing). After a decade without a focussed program, I knew that my that flexibility and strength were deteriorating.
When I began training with Jannie, the first focus was flexibility. I am now so much more comfortable in everyday life, as improving my flexibility has lead to more efficient movement. We now focus on strength work as well as fitness. I am noticing great improvements all round. Jannie is a superb rehabilitation and strength specialist, one at the top of his game. My personal experience with Jannie saw him take me on as a client with a severe spinal disc herniation, one most medical professionals would have recommended for surgery. Jannie is dedicated to healing people as naturally as possible and through his methodologies I was able to make a full recovery, without surgery.
I am now back to full sporting activities, deadlifting and squatting with heavy weight as I did before the injury. I have seen Jannie now again for a subsequent sport-related injury, which he helped me to heal just as effectively. I can thoroughly recommend Jannie and his treatment programs. I started training with Jannie in January 2022. I was approaching my 50th and realised I was overweight, feeling unfit and had a pain in my right hip. After just 6 months of training with him I lost a significant amount of body fat, added on muscle and the pain in my hip completely disappeared.

Jannie was recommended to me by two friends who couldn’t praise him enough. March 2024 I ruptured my Achilles tendon, I’m 58 and fairly fit with a good understanding of health & fitness.
